Re-create a front door panel in Edinburgh
My client was the new owner of a lovely Victorian
terraced house in Trinity, Edinburgh. Once again the 'modernisers'
had removed the original door and leaded glass and installed a painted
softwood door and reeded clear glass. However the original side
lights and transom had been retained and they contained a delightful mix
of colours and textures.
I recreated the panel based on the colours and textures of the
remaining lights, and the layout of a neighbour's door which was
intact. A craftsman joiner built a new door and installed the glass
panel.
The client now has an entrance to be proud of.
